2/5625 Captain (Capt) Lawrence Allen (Laurie) Wright (centre), of Croydon, NSW, 2 Troop Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), showing the Australian Army Commander in Malaya, 2/23 Brigadier (Brig) Sidney John Bleechmore, (left) a map of the latest operational locations of the RAE in Malaya. 2/1371 Sergeant (Sgt) Harold (Harry) Buckley (right), of Liverpool, NSW, 2 Troop, RAE, is assisting. Brig Bleechmore served during the Second World War as a captain (NX12359) with the 2/15th Field Company and is very interested in the engineering operations being conducted in Malaya. Capt Wright later served in South Vietnam with the 1st Australian Civil Affairs Unit during 1971. Sgt Buckley also served in South Vietnam with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV) between 1970 and 1971.
