Informal group portrait of police constables from Number 4 Police Field Force having a chat and a cigarette before undertaking an operation near Fort Kemar in the Malayan state of Perak. Identified, left to right: Police Constable (PC) Abdul Latif, aged 30, of Slim Village, Selangor; PC Jantan, aged 29, of Malacca; PC Ho Ah Lek, aged 26, of Malacca; Rabian, aged 30, of Muar; Private Donald (Don) Leck, aged 21, of Glenelg, SA, a medical orderly attached to C Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR). The PCs are armed with M1 .30 calibre carbines and a Bren Mk 1 light machine gun (LMG).
