Keeping up with the news is 42958 Private (Pte) Raymond Keith (Ray) Duthie (left) and 4410490 Pte Robert A (Bob) Vears (right), both of Woodville, SA. They are checking the sporting guide in a newspaper for results of the South Australian Football League (SAFL) matches. The two soldiers are members of 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), and are engaged in security operations along the Sarawak-Kalimantan border. Pte Duthie also served in South Vietnam with 3RAR between 1967 and 1968.
