Iban tracker, Gani (right), a Sarawak Ranger, examines a leaf for clues of enemy activity with 15735 Private (Pte) Herbert W (Herb) Grunow (left), of Virginia, Qld, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). The pair are completing a routine patrol near the Sarawak-Kalimantan border. Gani is armed with a long barreled shotgun and Pte Grunow is armed with a 7.62mm L1A1 self loading rifle (SLR).
