A Westland (Bristol) Belvedere helicopter touching down under the guidance of 214778 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Lt) Robert (Bob) James Ivey, of Sydney, NSW, 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR). 2nd Lt Ivey is based at a forward company base and conducts patrol duties in the Sarawak state of Borneo along the Indonesian border of Kalimantan. As there are often no roads linking the forward company bases with their logistic support, the Royal Air Force (RAF) uses helicopters to deliver soldiers and equipment to the forward bases in the 3RAR area of operations. 2nd Lt Ivey also made an official visit to South Vietnam in 1965 and he later served there with 3rd Squadron, Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) between 1966 and 1967 and with 1st Squadron, SAS Regiment also in 1967.
