Description

An Australian artillery crew from the 102nd Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA) engaging a target in North Borneo with a 105mm L5 Pack Howitzer. Identified, left to right: 54295 Lance Bombardier (L Bdr) J D Galbraith, of Hilton Park, WA; 213291 Gunner (Gnr) (later Captain) Keith Tucker, of Riverwood, NSW. The men are based at a forward company base close to the Sarawak-Kalimantan border. L Bdr Galbraith served in Malaya and Singapore during the Indonesian Confrontation in the early 1960s and he later served in South Vietnam with the 105th Field Battery, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA). Gnr Tucker served in South Vietnam with the 1st Field Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery (RAA) between 1966 and 1967 and with 12th Field Regiment, RAA during 1971.
