German propaganda photograph captured by the RAF.
RAF Caption: "Memorial service for fallen Auxiliary Airmen of the Hitler Youth in the Dahlemer Forest cemetery in Berlin.
Six Auxiliary Airmen of the Hitler Youth died in the last British terror attack on the capital as brave young soldiers in the fulfilment of their duty. Their funeral, which took place in the Dahlemer Forest Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, had attracted a large number of mourners, besides the parents and relatives of the dead. The Gauleiter [tr. Party Leader] of Berlin, Reichsminister Dr Goebbels, representing the Air Force, the Party, the Hitler Youth and the state also took part in the ceremony. The Italian ambassador Dino Alfrieri was also present with a deputation of Italian youth organisations. The Fuehrer honoured the brave Auxiliary Airmen by the posthumous award of the Iron Cross carried out by the commanding general of Luftgau 3, who also laid a wreath on behalf of the Reichsmarschall. Our picture shows Reichsminister Dr. Goebbels honouring the fallen with the last salute ".
The photograph shows three caskets draped in a Nazi flags and heavily decorated with floral wreaths. Each casket has eight pall bearers standing guard and a soldier holding a cusion with medals upon them. Goebbels is standing in front of a dias draped which is draped in a Nazi Flag, giving a Nazi salute.
