German propaganda photograph captured by the RAF.
RAF Caption: "American terror attack on Paris.
By very clear weather American fliers bombed the world famous race track at Longechamp, and a sports ground on which a meeting was taking place for the benefit of French pw's [prisoners of war]. The attack occurred early Sunday afternoon on the 5th April when huge crowds of people were gathered on the sports fields. Several hundred people died and 700 wounded fell victim by this terror attack by the North American air pirates".
The photograph is of men and women inspecting the a row of simple wooden coffins. On each of the coffins a small wreath is laid.
