Translation:
New infamies of the aerial huns on the Imperial Capital.
What is the military objective of this target? The French cathedral is completely free standing.
RAF Caption:
"Latest deed of shame on the capital by the air bandits. Are these the military objectives they claim to hit?"
The photograph is of the French Cathedral which is at the northern end of the Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin. The dome of the Cathedral is ablaze. The original German caption is emphasising that it is a completely free standing structure well away from any target of military value.
