Possibly Alexandria, Egypt. In Port. The battleship HMS Warspite which saw extensive service in the Mediterranean from mid 1940 to mid 1941 during which time flew the flag of Admiral Cunningham, Commander in Chief of the British Mediterranean Fleet. While operating off Crete in May 1941, Warspite was attacked by dive bombers and received a direct hit causing severe damage. After being repaired in the United States, Warspite arrived in Sydney, NSW, on 20 February 1942 en route to Colombo to join the British Eastern Fleet. Recognition stripes used during the period of the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939, can be seen on B gun turret.
