Studio portrait of 2663 Private (Pte) Charles Leslie Gillett of the 17th Battalion. An engine driver prior to enlistment, Pte Gillett received a shrapnel wound to his right leg resulting in his capture at Riencourt on 15 April 1917. He was held as a prisoner of war at Gefangenlager Hameln.
