PALESTINE, 1918. TRANSPORT OF THE 3RD AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HORSE CROSSING THE JORDAN RIVER ON ONE OF FOUR BRIDGES BUILT BY BRITISH TROOPS WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF SOME OF THE 3RD AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HORSE. NOTE THE CANVAS SIDES, ERECTED SO THAT THE HORSES WOULD NOT TAKE FRIGHT AND SHY. (DONOR: P. O'NEILL).
