KIMPO, SOUTH KOREA. 1953. THE NORTH KOREAN PILOT, NO KUM SOK (OR NO KUM SO) WHO LANDED AT NO. 77 SQUADRON'S BASE AT KIMPO IN HIS RUSSIAN BUILT MIG 15 JET FIGHTER AND SURRENDERED THE AIRCRAFT TO UNITED NATIONS FORCES. THE FIRST MAN TO REACH THE AIRCRAFT AFTER ITS LANDING WAS FLIGHT LIEUTENANT NORM WILLIAMS C.G.M., D.F.M. AND BAR, OPERATIONS OFFICER OF NO. 77 SQUADRON. NO KUM SOK LATER SETTLED IN THE UNITED STATES, BECAME A US CITIZEN IN 1962 AND CHANGED HIS NAME TO KEN ROWE. IN THE US HE WORKED AS AN AVIATION ENGINEER.
