Portrait of Australia's latest Victoria Cross (VC) recipient, Warrant Officer 2 (WO2) Keith Payne of Stafford Heights, QLD. WO2 Payne, An adviser with the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), was awarded the VC for bravery in action in Kontum Province on 24/05/1969.
Payne is wearing a green beret with the US 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) flash, he has placed the metal cap badge of the Royal Australian Regiment over the flash.
