The Minister for Repatriation, Senator McKellar, talks with soldiers of the 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), shortly before they moved out on a routine perimeter patrol on Christmas Day. The soldiers are, from left to right: Private (Pte) David Jones of Bunbury, Western Australia; Pte Barry Denning of Tumut, NSW; and Pte Paul Sullivan of St Kilda, Victoria. Senator McKellar also visited the 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), and other Task Force troops during his visit to Vietnam. [The three named soldiers are in a group of three closest to Senator McKellar. Pte David Jones is 5411582 Pte Henry David Jones. Pte Barry Denning is 2412396 Pte John (Barry) Denning. Pte Sullivan is 3786696 Pte Paul Charles Sullivan. Pte Sullivan was killed in action in South Vietnam on 27 December 1966, two days after this image was taken.]
