Description
A Daimler Ferret armoured car which has just escorted these unidentified soldiers from 'stand by' platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, (2RAR), to a rubber plantation, keeps guard as the patrol heads off through a rubber plantation and into the jungle after a reported sighting of a gang of Communist terrorists. The 'stand by' platoon is ready to move at 30 minute's notice with packs, food and ammunition all pre-prepared. This patrol group can stay out in the jungle for up to four days without re-supply, and are armed with a variety of weapons including Owen guns and Number 5, Short Magazine Lee Enfield (SMLE), jungle carbines.
