A group of men of 'stand by' platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), check their maps before heading by truck to a jumping off point at a rubber plantation on the fringe of the jungle, where they will take up the trail of a recently seen band of Communist terrorists. Some of the men have Owen guns slung over their shoulders. Identified (centre) is Lance Corporal Wally Thompson.
