A RAAF Hercules arrives in South Vietnam with the first men and advance equipment for the RAAF's new force in the area. It landed at Vung Tau, 35 miles south east of Saigon from where they will operate in support of the South Vietnamese government. The main item of equipment it carried was a huge hydraulic servicing platform designed for working on the high tail areas of the squadron caribou aircraft. The Hercules and its crew and passengers were enthusiastically greeted by the US airmen already based there. United States Air Force (USAF) and RAAF men get to know each other as the aircraft is unloaded at Vung Tau. In the background is a USAF Caribou. A roller conveyor system makes light work of the smaller cargo as USAF and RAAF men unload the Hercules at Vung Tau.
