Description
Members of the 3rd Australian Light Horse Regiment "boiling the billy" on the desert sand after a hard day's ride. The Sergeant kneeling is Sgt Clarence Garland Plenty and standing third from left is Trooper Arthur Herbert Davies. Their colour patch, black over white, is worn on their sleeves. A length of 35mm nitrate movie film has been given to them by the photographer to to help light their fire in this apparently staged photograph.
