Brencassi (Brankassi), Thailand. c. September 1945. Servicemen enjoying the swimming hole at Brencassi. They are possibly members of the War Graves Commission survey party or the Military History Section Field Team. These groups were involved in searching for cemeteries and recovering records from individual graves. These records had been placed there, unbeknown to the Japanese, by senior prisoner of war (POW) officers for post-war recovery. Brencassi is 208 kilometres north of Nong Pladuk (also known as Non Pladuk), or 206 kilometres south of Thanbyuzayat. (Donor A. Mackinnon)
