Burma-Thailand Railway. c. September 1945. Warrant Officer Class 2 L. Cody, 2/4th Machine Gun Battalion, an ex-prisoner of war (POW) member of the War Graves Commission survey party. Their task was to locate POW cemeteries and grave sites along the Burma-Thailand railway. Here, paybooks and other documents have been laid out to dry after being recovered from their hiding places in the graves of deceased POWs at 150 kilometre camp (Ankanan) (Aungganuang) Burma. This camp was 105 kilometres south of Thanbyuzayat, or 310 kilometres north of Nong Pladuk (also known as Non Pladuk). (Donor A. Mackinnon)
