Description
A Red Cross officer inspecting the grave of 4983 Private (Pte) Percy David Boddy, 24th Battalion, of Woodside, Vic. A farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Boddy embarked with the 13th reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Themistocles on 28th July 1916. He was killed in action in France on 13th March 1917 and was buried close to where he fell. His body was later exhumed and re-buried in the Warlencourt British Cemetery.
