An Australian Light Horseman polishing his leather leggings in the desert. In late 1918, members of the Australian Light Horse were chosen for a tour of the old battlefields of Gallipoli. The group, predominantly made up of Gallipoli veterans, disembarked on the peninsula on 4 December 1918.
