Description

A portion of the Australian Light Horse (ALH) camp by the Suez Canal, preparatory to revisiting Gallipoli. Soldiers stand at the entrance to their bell tents. Note the dog in the foreground. In late 1918, members of ALH were chosen for a tour of the old battlefields of Gallipoli. The group, predominantly made up of Gallipoli veterans, disembarked on the peninsula on 4 December 1918.
