Portrait of PA439 Able Seaman (AB) Thomas William Todd who was killed, with another rating, as part of a RMS (Rendering Mines Safe) party from the Port Adelaide depot, when a mine exploded on the beach at Beachport, South Australia, on 14 July 1941. AB Todd was born on 18 April 1911 and enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve on 5 September 1939. He was attached to HMAS Torrens when he died. AB Todd is buried in the Port Adelaide and Suburban Cemetery, Cheltenham, Adelaide, South Australia.
