Description
Looking along Shaggy Ridge, New Guinea, to the “Pimple” which was captured by the 2/16th infantry Battalion on 27 December 1943. The “Pimple” was subjected to heavy aerial bombing and also battered by 2200 shells from Australian 25 pounders. The effect of shelling and strafing is clearly visible.
