Description
The 14th Platoon of “C” Company, 57/60th Infantry battalion, are pictured moving in single file through thick jungle country near Ketoba in the Ramu Valley. The unit is advancing towards Kisa after having captured features known as Orgorunga 1 and 2 on the same day without opposition. Identified personnel are: VX139554 Private (Pte) Roy William Smith (1); QX55350 Corporal Leslie Gilbert Sweet (2); VX150159 (V122158) Pte Benjamin Robert Jones (3); V305514 Pte Frank Cuffe (4); and VX84573 Signalman James Edgar Knell (5).
