NX69134 Signalman Albert Edward Springham placing a message in a carrier at Signals Office, 18th Lines of Communication Signals, Port Moresby. This miniature overhead electric railway conveys messages a distance of approximately 400 yards between the Signal Office and the Message Centre of Headquarters, New Guinea Force. The motive power is provided by a 24 volt electric motor supplied form batteries connected to the rails.
