The view north-north-west from Crater Hill in the Finisterre Range looking along the Mindjim River Valley. In this valley lies Papipa 1 and 2 and Saipa 1 and 2. The troops in the foreground are members of the 58/59th Infantry Battalion who relieved the 2/9th in this area. Identified personnel, from left to right, are: NX154183 Private (Pte) Ted Dixon, VX140012 Pte William John Roberts, VX138107 Sergeant Clifford Ernest Schwartz and VX89778 Warrant Officer Class 2 Clarence Herbert Howe.
