Description
Men of the Army Service Corps, 9th Division, were used as infantrymen for a long period and guarded the rugged east coast sector of Tobruk where the perimeter met the Mediterranean in a series of deep and narrow wadis. The men manned former Italian concrete posts. Tom Fletcher, probably from 2/32nd Battalion, is in the foreground, looking down on Wadi Zeitun.
