402913 Pilot Officer (PO) Henry Roland (Harry) Train, 460 Squadron RAAF, with Frenchman Monsieur Andre Dewelde, local primary school teacher (right). PO Train was shot down over Eppe-Sauvage on 7 May 1942 and later betrayed to the Germans and sent to a Dulagluft in Frankfurt am Main, Germany [transit camp for prisoners of war]. He was later sent to Stalag Luft III at Zagan, Poland. Andre Dewelde was the local primary school teacher at Eppe-Sauvage and he was later killed 9 September 1944 at Renlies while fighting with the French Resistance. The photograph was taken by Mademoiselle Bienfait, daughter of Monsieur Jean Bienfait (later the Chief Officer of the Resistance in the Eppe-Sauvage area).
