Description
`Manggar, Balikpapan. A Japanese 6inch naval gun which destroyed three A Squadron, 1st Australian Armoured Regiment Matilda tanks. The gun was captured by the 2/14th Battalion. A sign below the barrel reads "A Section D[on] [Company] took this knoll. The Niponese(sic) paid the toll. The organisers captured by 7 Section D Coy 2/14th Battalion under Lt Doyle, 6/7/45". A Japanese helmet, two shells and two springs are close by.
