Studio portrait of NX37439 Private (Pte) Allan Leonard Curtis, 2/1st Australian Pioneer Battalion, of Bankstown, NSW (originally of the Isle of Wight, England). Pte Curtis later transferred to the 2/13 Battalion and was killed in action on 14 November 1942 in the Middle East.
