Description
An Italian seaplane or flying boat (possibly a Macchi) alights to hand over a message to the destroyer HMAS Swan. From September 1917 to October 1918 the six Australian destroyers carried out patrols of the Adriatic Sea to block the passage of enemy warships and submarines, and assisted in the escort of Italian transports.
