Description
Italian seamen handling the balloons that were used to suspend aerial nets along the courses most likely to be taken by hostile aircraft when attempting to bomb the port. See EN0375. Brindisi was the base for the six Australian destroyers (HMAS Huon, HMAS Parramatta, HMAS Swan, HMAS Torrens, HMAS Warrego and HMAS Yarra) while they were patrolling the Adriatic Sea between October 1917 and October 1918.
