Description
The original grave of 1510 Private (Pte) Robert Kerrigan, 15th Battalion, who was taken prisoner by the Turks and died in captivity, aged 39, at Afron Kara Hissar on 15 February 1917. Pte Kerrigan's grave now lies in the Baghdad (North Gate) Cemetery, one of many graves to be brought in from battlefields and cemeteries in Anatolia where Commonwealth prisoners of war were buried by the Turks.
