Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey. 1915-05. Sergeant W. C. B. Beech, 2nd Battalion, 1st Australian Infantry Brigade, devised a means of firing a rifle with a periscopic sight with the first being set up on the beach at Anzac about the end of the month.
