US Corporal Frank Crazy Thunder, a Native American, Oglala Lakota (Sioux), serving in Vietnam with the 173rd United States Airborne Support Battalion, was fascinated by this Australian boomerang. He is shown being instructed in its use by Warrant Officer Max Pederson, a member of the 1st Australian Logistic Support Company stationed at Bien Hoa.
