Description
Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) personnel moving down the gangway to the waiting landing barges during disembarkation from the MV Duntroon. The Duntroon carried a group of 342 AWAS from Australia to Lae who are going to the AWAS barracks at Butibum Road. Identified personnel are: (left to right) Private L L Gospel; Pte J I Peters; Pte M K Cameron; Pte B C Moat; unknown (partially obscured); Pte D Bannister; Pte M J Chalkley; Pte D H Robson.
