Studio portrait of 481 Private (Pte) Benjamin Andrew Acreman, 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance from Windsor, Queensland. A 20 year old benchman prior to enlisting on 19 November 1914, he embarked for overseas from Brisbane on 16 December 1914 aboard HMAT Borda. Pte Acreman died of typhoid fever on New Year's Day 1915, while en route to Colombo onboard the same ship on which he had embarked less than three weeks earlier. He is buried in the Chatby Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt.
