Studio portrait of 414 Private (Pte) Albert Howard Anderson, 4th Battalion, from Baggabri, NSW. A 23 year old carpenter prior to enlisting on 21 August 1914, he embarked for overseas with H Company from Sydney on 20 October 1914 aboard HMAT Euripides. After spending a few days in hospital in Cairo with laryngitis, Pte Anderson served on Gallipoli and was killed at Lone Pine between 6 and 9 August 1915. He was buried originally in Brown Dip South Cemetery and later moved to Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli, Turkey.
