Studio portrait of Second Lieutenant David John Anderson, 67th (Bendigo) Infantry. He enlisted in the AIF and was posted as a Sergeant (Sgt) to the 1st Reinforcements, 8th Battalion. He was killed in action at Gallipoli on 16 June 1915, aged 18 years. A native of Bendigo, Vic, Sgt Anderson was a pharmaceutical student in civilian life before enlisting on 10 September 1914. He had embarked for service overseas on HMAT Themistocles on 22 December 1914.
