Portrait of 4013 Gunner (Gnr) Thomas Herbert Beath, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade. A civil engineer prior to enlistment, he embarked on HMAT Shropshire on 20 March 1915 for the Dardenelles where he joined the 4th Battery on 25 July 1915. Gnr Beath was killed in action on 7 August 1915, aged 29 years.
