Studio portrait of 3043 Private (Pte) George Blake, 28th Battalion, of Roebourne, WA. A stockman prior to enlistment, Pte Blake embarked from Fremantle on HMAT Medic on 18th January 1916. He was killed in action on 9th October 1917 and is Commemorated on the Menin Gate. His brother 472 Trooper (Tpr) William Blake was killed at Gallipoli on 8th August 1915.
