Studio portrait of 287 Private (Pte) Leslie Bucher, 6th Battalion. A jeweller of Richmond, Victoria, prior to enlistment on 18 August 1914 he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Hororata on 19 October 1914 for the Dardanelles. Pte Bucher was killed in action at Gallipoli on 2 May 1915. He was aged 25 years.
