Portrait of 140 Corporal Percy James Davidson, 22nd Battalion from Collingwood, Victoria. He was a 19 year old gardener when he enlisted on 8 February 1915 and he embarked for overseas as a Private from Melbourne on 10 May 1915 aboard HMAT Ulysses. After seeing action at Gallipoli, he went on to serve on the Western Front where he was killed in action near Pozieres, France on 5 August 1916. His name is inscribed on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial in France with other Australian causalities who have no known grave.
