Studio portrait of 2632 Private (Pte) James David Dickson, 30th Battalion, of Ultimo, NSW. A wharf labourer prior to enlistment, Pte Dickson embarked from Sydney with the 5th Reinforcements on HMAT Nestor on 9th April 1916. On 30th November 1916 he died of wounds received in action in France as is buried in the Ste Marie Cemetery, Le Havre.
