Studio portrait of 6007 Private (Pte) Denbigh Pratt Dobell, 7th Battalion, of Trentham, Vic. A farmer prior to enlistment, Pte Dobell enlisted under the name of William Denbigh Dobell and embarked with the 19th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Themistocles on 28th July 1916. Later transferring to the 37th Battalion, he was killed in action in Belgium on 8th June 1917 and was buried in the Messines Ridge British Cemetery.
