Studio portrait of 3290 Private (Pte) William Petrel Donohue, 8th Battalion, of Fitzroy, Vic. A concrete hand prior to enlistment, Pte Donohue embarked with the 11th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Nestor on 11th October 1915. After initially transferring to the 59th Battalion, he later transferred to the 60th Battalion where, on 19th July 1916, he was killed in action. He is commemorated on the VC Corner Australian Cemetery Memorial, Fromelles.
