Studio portrait of 2nd Lieutenant (2 Lt) Victor Gillard Dridan, 10th Battalion, of Mitcham, SA. A clerk prior to enlistment 2 Lt Dridan embarked with the 11th Reinforcements from Adelaide on HMAT Benalla on 27 October 1915. Later transferring to 50th Battalion, he was promoted to Lieutenant (Lt) and on 16 August 1916 he died of wounds received in action, aged 21, and was buried in the Worloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension.
